2016 Dates Coming Soon!

Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah, Zip-a-Dee-Ay...
My, oh my, what a wonderful day!
Another year of Zip Days are behind us, and oh my, what fun we had!
Blue Lotus welcomed many families to the farm during the months of June, July and August - some returning friends but many new faces, too. Guests participated in a variety of activities that were facilitated by professional staff and many volunteers, including: boating, fishing, archery, trail exploration, yoga, and a variety of yard games. Some got their face and hands painted, others participated in a parachute activity, and others watched the busy birds flying about the property! Guests left with some take home materials, including healthy recipes, healthy benefits of spending time in nature, and some outdoor activities to be replicated at home.
The Zip Days are designed for one on one bonding in nature between children with special needs and their parents/caregivers. The program
has become something that families look forward to attending during the summer months, as it provides an unstructured day of fun in the
country. Thanks to all those who participated, as well as helped facilitate this program! We look forward to seeing you again next year.
The Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah Days are made possible through a grant received from the West Bend Mutual Insurance Company Charitable Fund.

What are the Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah Days?
The Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah Day(s) provide a time for parents/caregivers & special needs children to establish a new level of communication and bonding through outdoor activities such as nature walks, fishing, kayaking/canoeing, yoga, games, picnicking and more. Blue Lotus
will have professional staff & volunteers available to help facilitate these activities. The Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah Day(s) are special, as they don't cater to any one organization, but instead welcome families to come directly to Blue Lotus to spend a day in nature. Our hope is to reach children and families who are not necessarily affiliated with other support networks. The care and opportunities provided through this program have made a significant impact on past participants.
